Brenda Bridges – Hardy

Brenda Bridges Hardy, the 12 th child of Viola and A.D. Bridges, was born in
Holcomb, MS. and attended nearby Grenada schools her entire life. After
completing her education, Brenda joined the team at Grenada County Hospital in
the Physical Therapy Department. Later, she joined Grenada Physical Therapy
(GPT) where she became a well- known caregiver to anyone who needed rehab to
regain or build a person’s strength for a better life. Brenda remained with GPT for
twenty-two years. In 2022, Brenda retired after almost 34 years to join her
daughter’s new business. One thing however she will never retire from is the role
of “caregiver” …caring for her family, friends and community.

Doing for others was modeled for Brenda by her parents. Everyone in town knew
that the Bridges home was a place where people in need could go. Regardless of
the need, be it food, shelter or a kind word, the family would be there to “stand in
the gap.”

Even when working fulltime, both Brenda and Curtis have volunteered to deliver
food, drive people to appointments, mentor youth and much more. Now after
retirement, with more available time, their vision has expanded to the creation of a
nonprofit to assist in serving the greater Grenada community.
